There is no such thing as failing at meditation, as long as we are mindful of our experience, whatever it is.

Equanimity is staying calm no matter what life throws at us – pleasure and pain, likes and dislikes, success and failure, praise and blame, fame and disrepute.

With greater self-compassion, we can be gentler and more patient with our own perceived failings.

Anyone who enjoys inner peace is no more broken by failure than they are inflated by success.
